Benvenuto a Pax Romana Chapter, NSDAR!
Pax Romana Chapter, NSDAR, is the Italian chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), and a part of its Units Overseas. DAR brings together women whose American ancestors actively participated in the American War of Independence (1775-1783).
The chapter was organized in 2008. Though based in Rome, members live all over Italy, as well as in England, France, the United States, and the Middle East. Most members once lived in Italy and have moved, but choose to remain a part of the chapter.
Pax Romana Chapter, NSDAR, actively supports DAR goals adapted to life in Italy. Projects include finding and marking DAR graves in Italy and restoring the graves of other Americans buried there. The chapter also supports activities at U.S. WWII cemeteries, the U.S. Embassy and other U.S. organization activities, Italian earthquake relief, and a home for underprivileged children in Rome. Living in an adopted country, one of the most important assets for this chapter is the friendship that it offers to members.
