Restaurants / Trattorias
-
Flavio a Velavevodetto (Testaccio area)
We like to go here for lunch as a group, after we visit the Non-Catholic Cemetery. It's a short walk and the food is fantastic. You should really make a reservation because it's quite popular.
Food Shop
-
Fiorentino- l'Artigano della Carne (the butcher in Campo dei Fiori)
MUST try the many various flavored/spiced meatballs (there are some that are also turkey)
-
Il Forno (the bakery/sandwhich shop just next to the butcher, behind the flower stall)
A favorite... cibatta bread with buffalo mozzarella cheese and zucchini flowers. You can only get them to take-away so grab a bottle of water and go sit and admire the view in the piazza.
Place / Piazza / Park
-
Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina
Great bars to sit out and have an aperitivo or a cup of tea.
Historical Monument / Touristic Point of Interest
-
The Pantheon
Inside when it is raining hard (better yet, on the rare occasion it is snowing).
